A few days ago I briefly mentioned that we’ve officially started looking for a house. Now that we’ve begun looking for places, I’ve decided to start planning how I want to decorate each room.
I’m probably jumping the gun a little bit. I mean, trying to decorate before you’ve even found a house is kind of hard. But I’m chronically indecisive. It takes me like an hour to decide what to have for breakfast each day. I figure if I start planning my decorating now, I might have made some decisions by the time we move in.
Probably not. But a woman can hope.
Anyway, because we’re looking at old houses that need work, the laundry will probably be a complete ‘gut-and-redo’ type situation. Below I’ve made a little mood board that shows what I’d like to do to my future laundry.

If the room needs a repaint (which is probable), I’d like to paint the walls a nice white colour. At the moment, I’m leaning towards Dulux’s Natural White, which is an ever-so-slightly warm white.
If space allows, I’d love to add some white cabinets and use them to store my cleaning supplies/rags/etc. If air circulation and space allow, I might store some of my bed linen using a large wicker chest.
I’d like to keep the decor pretty simple. If the space needs a bit of colour, I might add an artificial plant and some dusty purple curtains to break up all of the white and neutral tones.
Do you have plans to redecorate your laundry? What would you like to do with it? I’d love to hear about your ideas in the comments!
Have a beautiful day,
