Printable FAQ & troubleshooting
This page answers frequently asked questions about the free printables on this website and provides troubleshooting for the most common issues.
1. When I click the download button, I get a screen with a bunch of jumbled letters. Is something broken?
This usually happens when you try to download a .zip file while using the Pinterest app. The Pinterest app isn’t able to handle these sorts of files. This is something I have no control over.
The easiest solution is to revisit the page in your web browser (e.g. Safari, Chrome, Firefox) and click the download button from there.
2. How do I open .zip files?
This depends on what operating system you are using. Scroll down for instructions for your device.
Right click the folder. Select ‘Extract All’ from the menu that appears. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Double click the .zip folder. The folder will unzip automatically.
Opening .zip files is a little more complicated on iOS, but it is doable. Please follow the instructions on this web page to unzip files on your iPhone or iPad.
3. Can you resize the printable or make other changes for me?
While I would love to help you, with the growth of this blog I simply don’t have the time to make custom changes for the printables.
4. I’m having trouble printing. Is there something wrong with the printable? Can you help me?
All of the printables have been tested and are working. If you encounter a problem, try Googling your printer’s model number + a description of the issue or contact your printer’s manufacturer.
Due to the large number of printers and computers out there, I cannot provide personalised troubleshooting.
5. The colours look different on paper than they do on-screen. Why?
There are lots of geeky reasons for this. You can read a whole article about how printers and computer monitors handle colour here, if you’re interested. I have done all I can on my end to minimise colour variation, but some colour variation is normal and isn’t something I have any control over.
6. Can I use the printables for my shop/business/to make money?
In general, no. Please read this page for a full run-down of how you can and cannot use the free printables on this website.
Still having problems?
If you experience an issue not covered in this FAQ, please send me an email with the title of the post as the subject line. While I will try to reply as soon as I can, please allow at least seven business days for me to get back to you.
